About Us

We work by hand. Cleaving the log, turning the legs and spindles on the pole lathe, shaving and building the chair, step by step, with care. It is honest, absorbing work, and that is where the difference from a machine-made chair lies.

We are a small workshop making chairs from green wood on the pole lathe. To us a chair is more than a seat: cleft, turned and built by hand, its joints draw tight as it dries, and it lasts a lifetime of use. That is what our work is about.

We make each chair to suit. The wood, the design and the use all matter. We advise and make what suits you and the room, honestly and without fuss.
